Higher Level Apprenticeships (Level 4+)

Higher Level Apprenticeships (HLAs) are aimed at anyone who has completed A levels (or equivalent). They are designed to help those in work to develop higher skill levels and include qualifications at a level equivalent to the first stages of Higher Education (i.e. Level 4 or Level 5).  A Higher Level Apprenticeship is a work-based programme which enables you to earn while you learn and gain a nationally recognised professional qualification. You will be employed during your course.

A Higher Level Apprenticeship is an apprenticeship with a targeted qualification between Level 4 (HNC equivalent) to Level 8 (PhD equivalent). A Higher Level Apprenticeship will help develop professional and technical skills, as well as gaining recognised higher qualifications while in paid employment. Higher level apprenticeships will offer on-the-job training and off-the-job learning at higher levels, including Foundation Degrees (level 5), Honours Degrees (Level 6) and post-graduate awards (Level 7-8). Higher Level Apprenticeships will enable employers to train staff to the level required as well as assuring that there are people available with strong technical and good employability skills.
