BTEC Awards 2018 now open for nominations Posted on 15/12/2017 00:00:00 BTEC Awards 2018 now open for nominations - opportunity to recognise and reward the students, lecturers, and colleges for their exceptional achievements.

What are the BTEC Awards 2018? 

The BTEC Awards is an annual event which allows colleges to reward and celebrate the achievements of exceptional students and colleagues on the national stage.

Winners will be invited to London for a memorable afternoon starting with a lunchtime reception at the House of Commons. Winners will then attend a ceremony to celebrate their accomplishments and collect their Award on stage from a guest presenter. 

Closing date for nominations is 23rd February 2018. 

Who can nominate?

Nominating gives you the opportunity to acknowledge and reward the hard work and achievements of exceptional BTEC students and colleagues.

What are the BTEC Sectoral Awards 2018?

The BTEC sector awards are a chance to nominate students in one of fifteen dedicated subject areas.  

The sector award categories for the 2018 BTEC Awards are:

  • BTEC Business and Enterprise Student of the Year
  • BTEC Child and Social Care Student of the Year
  • BTEC Construction Student of the Year
  • BTEC Art and Design Student of the Year
  • BTEC Engineering Student of the Year
  • BTEC Hospitality and Travel and Tourism Student of the Year
  • BTEC IT and Computing Student of the Year
  • BTEC Land-based Student of the Year
  • BTEC Creative Media Student of the Year
  • BTEC Music Student of the Year
  • BTEC Performing Arts Student of the Year
  • BTEC Public Services Student of the Year
  • BTEC Science Student of the Year
  • BTEC Sport Student of the Year

What are the BTEC Overall awards?

These awards give you the opportunity to nominate excellent adult learners, apprentices, teachers, schools, multi-academy trusts, colleges and training providers. These awards give the opportunity to nominate excellent adult learners, apprentices, teachers, and colleges. 

The sector award categories for the 2018 BTEC Awards are:

  • BTEC Adult Learner of the Year 2018
  • BTEC Apprentice of the Year (16-18) 2018
  • BTEC Apprentice of the Year (19+) 2018
  • BTEC Apprenticeship Provider of the Year 2018
  • BTEC College of the Year 2018
  • BTEC Higher National Student of the Year 2018
  • BTEC International Student of the Year 2018
  • BTEC Teacher/Tutor of the Year 2018
  • BTEC School or Multi-academy Trust of the Year 2018
  • Overall BTEC student of the year 2017

What winners receive?

As well as a prestigious national award to add to their CV, BTEC Award winners will be invited (along with their guests) to London, where they will:

  • Receive return travel to London for the winner and up three guests
  • Enjoy a lunchtime reception at the House of Commons, where they will have the opportunity to meet their local MP
  • Attend the glittering awards ceremony at a top London location and collect their award on stage. 
  • Overall Student winner will receive a cheque for £1000

All nominees successfully through to the final judging panel will be presented with either a commended or highly commended certificate to mark their achievement in the process.
