In addition to the platform for education world leaders to debate international higher and further education issues and challenges, and to discuss collaborative solutions, the event provides an opportunity for networking, and has become a fixture of the global education calendar. The conference consists of a series of collaborative sessions that focus on the year’s chosen themes.
More than 1,200 leaders from 80 countries attend from across the tertiary (further and higher) education sectors and various other sectors with perspectives on international education attend each year.  The conference provides a unique forum for exploring the latest developments and issues in international post-compulsory education.

The organisers are offering providers the opportunity to raise your profile and network with leaders in international tertiary education by presenting at the British Council’s Going Global 2018 conference. Providers have a crucial role to play in communities – from helping to shape the globally-minded citizens of tomorrow to creating the conditions for industry collaboration and social innovation.  The British Council is accepting innovative, agenda-setting proposals that will spark discussions and facilitate the sharing of knowledge in the following areas:
  • New skills, new graduates: How do we ensure graduates have the right skills to contribute to both societal and economic growth?
  • Social mobility and international mobility: Which national-level initiatives are providing the foundations for social equity and inclusion?
  • Demonstrating impact: How do we ensure that the knowledge generated by tertiary education institutions delivers impact for society?
  • Future-proofing HEI systems: How can education leaders and policy makers ensure HEI institutions and systems have long-term sustainability? Who should foot the bill?
  • New models of delivery: Are there new delivery models that will disrupt and invigorate the global higher education ecosystem? What potential do these have to build and benefit societies of the future?
Poster proposals will be accepted up until Friday 12 January 2018.
