4 NI students off to Abu Dhabi to test their skills

WorldSkills is the largest skills competition of its kind. It is held every two years, with around 1,000 young people coming together from around the globe to compete. More than 45 different skills are represented at the competition from Engineering, Manufacturing, ICT to Professional Services. This year's event takes place in October 2017 with four NI students on Team UK which has 34 members.

What are the skills needs of the future?

This updated report provides a detailed understanding of the skill requirements for the Northern Ireland economy up to 2026 with the aim of ensuring that any skills gaps are identified and addressed. The research analyses where the skills gaps are currently, where they are emerging and where they are likely to emerge over the longer term.

A Level Results? Need to speak to someone re options?

The FE Colleges offer a range of options for any young person who has just received their A Level results. This ranges from higher education courses such as HNDs and Foundation Degrees which offer pathways to a Honours Degrees and also Higher Level Apprenticeships where you can 'earn while you learn'.

NWRC graduate Engineering a bright future in Australia

A former graduate of North West Regional College who completed a Higher National Diploma in Building Studies, is helping raise the profile of female engineers in her new home town of Darwin, Australia. Sinead Deeney from Feeny who went on to complete a degree in Civil Engineering with the Open University, now works with Global giant WSP.
