J P McManus Applications now open

The All Ireland Scholarship Scheme (JP McManus Scholarship) is now open for applications. It will provide twenty-five Scholarships to the top-performing students in receipt of the Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA), who reside in Northern Ireland (NI) and attend a grant-aided Post Primary School or Further Education (FE) College in NI. The value of the Scholarship is £5,500 per year*.

SERC Celebrate 10th Anniversary of International Partnership

SERC recently celebrated its 10th Anniversary of Academic links with the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Toyama College, Japan. The event, held at the SPACE Campus, attracted representatives who have been involved in making and sustaining the connection for both colleges over the past decade.

Northern Regional College greenlight new campuses for Coleraine and Ballymena

The design contract for the new £84 million capital investment programme at Northern Regional College has been awarded to McAdam Design. This significant investment will deliver new state of the art campuses on the current sites in Coleraine and at Farm Lodge in Ballymena. The projects are scheduled to be completed by summer 2022 and are funded by the Department for the Economy.

Budget proposals fail to recognise that Further Education means success for Northern Ireland

Colleges Northern Ireland representing the six regional Further Education (FE) Colleges has demanded an urgent rethink on the proposals presented in the 2018-2020 Budgetary Outlook. The proposals undermine the life chances of the most vulnerable in society, fail to consider longer-term economic and social impacts and hit an already heavily rationalised FE sector.
