INTERREG - Call for renewable energy projects under the NW Europe Porgramme Posted on 05/02/2018 00:00:00 North-West Europe - Interreg Programme (NWE) is launching a targeted call to support projects that contribute to increasing the share of renewable energy supply and demand in North-West Europe.

About the call for applications

The North-West Europe region is one of the highest energy consuming regions in the EU and faces a number of energy-related challenges, including the low share of renewables in the production and consumption mix and NWE’s strong dependence on non-renewable energy sources.  NWE regions thus need to improve renewable energy distribution and generation infrastructure to reach the EU 2030 targets and to reduce GHG emissions.

The NWE programme is looking for projects that deal with demonstration, implementation and roll-out of renewable energy solutions.  Projects must bring together partners from at least three different countries of which two from within the NWE area.

The NWE programme supports applicants from all or parts of 8 participating countries, including 7 EU Member States (Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom) and Switzerland. A wide range of bodies can take part in NWE project partnerships including national, regional and local authorities, universities, R&D agencies, non-profit organisations as well as private partners, including profit-making partners (e.g. SMEs).

Open from 24th January 2018 to 31st July 2018 (11am UK time) deadline.

How to apply?

This call for proposals will operate on a “one-step” application process. The full application package and further information can be downloaded from the “Application resources” section of the website under the heading “Documents for targeted call on renewable energy”.

A total budget of €50 million ERDF is being earmarked specifically for this call.  The NWE programme can provide up to 60% of the eligible costs. Further detail on the Call is available from the following web-link:
