Skills and Apprenticeships policy in Northern Ireland Seminar Posted on 08/01/2018 00:00:00 Policy Forum for Northern Ireland keynote will be hosting a seminar on Thursday 03 May 2018 which will assess priorities for Skills and Apprenticeships policy in Northern Ireland.
This seminar will discuss the further steps that can be taken to support the development of effective partnerships between schools, further and higher education, training providers and employers; as well as considering the challenges for creating high-quality and flexible qualifications and career pathways - including degree apprenticeships.

Further sessions will examine the latest work coming from the Department for the Economy - including ApprenticeshipsNI - and policy priorities for the future.

Overall, the areas for discussion include:
Latest thinking in meeting Northern Ireland’s skills needs - including the priorities for the public and private sector employers;
The development of effective career pathways, delivering in the 14-19 age group and the future for degree apprenticeships;

Lessons from outside Northern Ireland in the delivery of apprenticeship policy;
 Promoting diversity and social mobility in apprenticeships, and meeting the needs of apprentices; and
 The latest on apprenticeship policy and priorities for the future.


This agenda has been structured following consultation with the officials within the Department for the Economy and representatives from the FE Sector will be speaking at the event.
