North West Regional College offering free course in Fabrication and Welding Posted on 13/10/2017 00:00:00 North West Regional College is offering a free fast-track course available to help unemployed people pursue a career in fabrication and welding.

Registration has now opened for an innovative fast-track course at the North West Regional College to prepare candidates for a career in fabrication and welding.

This 12-week course is being hosted by Derry City and Strabane District Council in partnership with the Business Support Centre at the North West Regional College.  

The course includes an eight-week training programme where candidates will study for an industry recognised qualification with City and Guilds, a four-week industry placement and a guaranteed job interview with the 5 participating companies.

North West Regional College Business Development Manager said " The course is an ideal way for people to learn and apply those skills in a trade to fill local vacancies. We are delighted to be able to form the Fabrication and Welding Academy in partnership with the council." 

Candidates should also have an interest in pursuing a career in this discipline.To be eligible for the Fabrication and Welding Academy, candidates must be over 18 years old, live within the Derry City and Strabane District Council area and have a Mathematics and English qualification at Level Two or above.

The closing date for applications is 4pm on Friday, October 27 2017.
